Former NHL superstar on the way to the Swiss league? “Good offer on the table”
Former Washington Capitals star center Evgeny Kuznetsov may play in the Swiss league next season.
Kuznetsov, who has played 11 seasons in the NHL and even won the Stanley Cup, surprisingly left the NHL in the summer of 2024 to join the KHL’s wealthy team SKA St. Petersburg. This season, the talented player started with Metallurg Magnitogorsk before moving to Salavat Yulaev Ufa.
Having played in the KHL at nearly a point-per-game pace, Kuznetsov is still only 33 years old, so a return to the NHL is still of interest. Currently, he is weighing playing between Europe and North America.
– I have a good offer on the table from Switzerland. Evgeny has to decide whether he wants to return to the NHL or if he would be willing to play in Europe, the player’s agent Babaev Sandi tells the Russian Sport-Express, without revealing the name of the team that made the offer.
Kuznetsov has played 743 regular season games in the NHL with stats of 173+402=575. In the playoffs, the Russian center has recorded 73 points in 97 games with 33+40.
