The Swedish NHL star team’s medal hopes in the Olympics took quite a hit as the team finished third in their group behind Slovakia and Finland.
A weak group stage placement meant that if Tre Kronor makes it through Tuesday’s quarter-final against Latvia, they will face a team filled with NHL stars from the USA in the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, they would likely meet the tournament’s biggest favorite, Canada.
The Score particularly highlights several lineup decisions made by head coach Sam Hallam during the group stage.
