Finnish guard Janne Juvonen has found a new team!
The Finnish goalkeeper Janne Juvonen, 31, who has been without a team at the start of the season, has found a new club.
The Kölner Haie, playing in the German DEL league, has signed a contract with Juvonen for the remainder of the season. The head coach of Kölner Haie is Kari Jalonen, and the team also includes Finnish players Oliwer Kaski, Valtteri Kemiläinen, Veli-Matti Vittasmäki, and Juhani Tyrväinen.
Kölner Haie needed a new goalkeeper due to the injury of Felix Brückmann. Juvonen has not played in Germany during his previous career.
Juvonen represented the Swiss NL club HC Ambri-Piotta for the last three seasons. Last season, he played 22 regular season games with a save percentage of 89.9 and three playoff games with a save percentage of 91.2.
In his career, Juvonen has also played in Sweden, Austria, in the KHL with Jokerit, and in the Liiga with Pelicans. Juvonen was part of the Finnish national team that won silver at the World Championships in the spring of 2021.
