Experienced NHL tough guy Ryan Reaves spoke about the continuation of his career – an impressive milestone in sight
Tough NHL veteran forward Ryan Reaves, 39, is currently a free agent. His goal is to continue his career in the NHL next season.
– I have been training all summer and I feel good. I think I have one more season left, Reaves said on TSN 1050’s First Up podcast.
Reaves is aiming for the impressive milestone of a thousand NHL games. He has played 962 regular season games in the NHL, so the achievement is just 38 games away.
Reaves mentions that discussions have taken place with some NHL teams, but he has not received any contract offers so far.
– I believe that at this age I will be one of the last pieces for some teams. I understand that.
Last season, Reaves represented the San Jose Sharks, where he played 50 games. In the games he played, Reaves scored three goals.
In the NHL, Reaves has previously represented the St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vegas Golden Knights, New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He has played in the NHL for 16 seasons.
The 39-year-old is just 38 games away from reaching 1,000 for his career.
