The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed a new goaltender from the NHL’s free agency. NHL reporter Pierre LeBrun reports on X that Columbus has signed a one-year contract with Cam Talbot. The contract is worth 950,000 dollars.

Talbot, 39, represented the Detroit Red Wings for the past two seasons. He played 34 games for the team last season with a save percentage of 88.3. In the spring, Talbot also represented Canada at the World Championships, playing two games in the tournament.

In his NHL career, veteran goaltender Talbot has played a total of 567 regular season games and 36 playoff games. He has also previously represented the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and Los Angeles Kings.
