IS: Ilves’ young star disappeared from the lineup – questions in the air: “Not injured”
Young forward prospect Topias Hynninen, 20, left Jukurit behind at the end of last season and moved to Ilves on a two-year contract.
However, Hynninen has not yet been seen in Ilves’ lineup in any game during this season’s regular season. Hynninen last played in an Ilves jersey on August 8 in a friendly match, but since then he has not been seen in action.
Hynninen’s situation raises questions, as according to Ilves, he is not injured. Ilves has not disclosed the reason for Hynninen’s absence.
– He is not injured, Ilves’ team manager Timo Peltomaa told Ilta-Sanomat on September 4.
According to Ilves’ sports director Timo Koskela, it is not known when Hynninen will play.
– As a club, we cannot comment on players’ health information in any way, Koskela told IS on Monday.
Hynninen had two strong seasons with Jukurit. Last season, he recorded 28 points in 57 games with 8+20=28, while in the season before that, he recorded 35 points in 51 games with 12+23=35.
