The forward Teuvo Teräväinen, selected for the Finnish Olympic team for the Milano-Cortina Games, was injured during a game against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday in the NHL. The Chicago Blackhawks, represented by Teräväinen, lost the match 1–4.
There was no clear incident in the game that could have caused the injury, but Teräväinen did not return to the ice at the start of the second period. He had only played 5 minutes and 27 seconds.
This season, Teräväinen has recorded 21 points in 45 games with 9 goals and 12 assists.
The injury is concerning news for the Finnish Olympic team. If the injury requires a longer recovery time, it could jeopardize Teräväinen’s participation in the Games.
