Winnipeg put $30 million on the table – a hefty salary increase for the NHL star!
The Winnipeg Jets announce that they have signed forward Cole Perfetti to a five-year contract extension. The deal guarantees Perfetti six million dollars in annual earnings, making the total value of the new deal 30 million dollars.
Perfetti, 24, finished last season with the Jets, recording 12 goals and 20 assists for a total of 32 points in 68 games. His most productive season in the NHL was the year before, when he scored 18 goals and 32 assists for 50 points in 82 games.
Originally, Perfetti was the Jets’ 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 draft. In his NHL career, he has played 290 regular-season games (59+98=157) and 14 playoff games (3+3).
Winnipeg and Perfetti were heading to arbitration to reach a contract extension. However, the new deal was finalized before the hearing.
In his previous contract, Perfetti earned 3.25 million dollars per season. Thus, he received a significant pay raise now.
