HIFK and Jokerit, who will be promoted to the Liiga next season, are sharpening their blades in the transfer market. According to MTV Sports, both Helsinki clubs are trying to secure forward Jere Sallinen, 35, for next season.

According to MTV, at least Kiekko-Espoo has also inquired about Sallinen’s future plans. Sallinen played his first professional games with Espoon Blues during the 2007-08 season.

Currently, Sallinen is playing in Switzerland for EHC Biel-Bienne. This season, the forward has scored 17 points in 33 games with 7 goals and 10 assists.

Earlier in his career, Sallinen played two seasons with HIFK (2019-21), during which he also served as the team’s captain. He has also been seen in a Jokerit jersey for two seasons (2014-16).
