Ville Koivunen in top form – received amazing honor

Finnish forward Ville Koivunen has been named Player of the Month in the AHL.
Koivunen, who plays for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, had a strong performance throughout February. He recorded 16 points in 11 games with a scoring line of 6+10=16. At his best, Koivunen scored four points in a single game. He went without points in only one game during the entire month of February.
This season, Koivunen has split time between the NHL and AHL, playing 27 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins with a total of 2+3 points. In the minors, he has tallied 33 points in 27 games with a scoring line of 11+22=33.
