On Monday, the Finnish Ice Hockey Players’ Association, also known as the Players’ Association, commented on the matter.
– The Finnish Ice Hockey Players’ Association reminds that it is important to consider the rights of players as employees and individuals in the value discussions surrounding ice hockey.
– Professional ice hockey players are in an employment relationship with their clubs. Players have the same fundamental rights as other individuals, and the Finnish Constitution guarantees everyone freedom of thought, conscience, and opinion. The players’ primary obligation in their employment relationship is to participate in the team’s sports activities and play ice hockey, as stated in the Players’ Association’s Instagram update.
