The United States will have to play the start of the World Championships without its superstar Matthew Tkachuk. Tkachuk, representing the Florida Panthers, has not yet arrived in Zurich.
Czech journalist Jakub Ruc reports on X that Tkachuk recently welcomed his first child with his partner, which is why Tkachuk has not yet traveled to the World Championship venue. Tkachuk is scheduled to arrive in Switzerland only next Tuesday, May 19.
Thus, Tkachuk will miss at least the first three games of the United States in the World Championship. One of the opponents is Finland, which the United States will face on May 18.
Before their match against the Lions, the United States will face Switzerland and Great Britain.
