Urheilucast: The league’s financial team made an offer to the Lions’ World Championship player – the choice has now been made!
The address of Mikael Seppälä, the defender of the Lions, for the next season is now clear. The Czech top league club Sparta Prague announced on Monday that it has signed a contract extension with the Finnish defender.
The 32-year-old Seppälä moved to Prague this season from the Swedish SHL. According to Urheilucast, Rauman Lukko was involved in the bidding until the very end. Seppälä has also been rumored to be returning to KalPa.
Sparta Prague’s sports director Tomas Divisek expressed his joy over the contract extension in the club’s announcement.
– Everyone saw it in the playoffs when he got back into the game. A great fighter and an extremely hardworking player, Divisek praised Seppälä.
The past season was partly difficult for Seppälä due to injuries.
– When healthy, he becomes an important link in our defense, Divisek said.
Seppälä, who has had a long career at KalPa, is currently preparing for the spring World Championships with the Finnish national team.
