The most talked-about player acquisition of TPS’s summer, Austrian forward Lukas Haudum, deserves a significantly high salary in the League according to Urheilucast. Urheilucast reports in its Instagram stories that Haudum’s gross income will exceed 300,000 euros per season.

The amount is exceptionally large for a player coming to Finland from the multinational ICEHL league.

– TPS is paying Lukas Haudum a huge salary. The gross amount is “more than 300,000 euros per season.” Which is, of course, “unprecedented” for an ICEHL player, Urheilucast described in its IG stories.

The transfer caused bitterness in Austria

Haudum moved to TPS on a one-year contract from his home country’s ICEHL league. However, the transfer did not receive only positive reception in Austria, but sparked strong reactions from the management of his former club Graz99ers.

The owner of Graz99ers, Herbert Jerich, commented on the forward’s departure to the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung in an unusually straightforward manner. Although Jerich stated that he understood the player’s desire to seek new challenges abroad, he did not hide his disappointment at TPS being chosen as the new club.

– I understand that Haudum wanted to go abroad. But I don’t understand that he goes to such a mediocre club. I am shocked that he made his choice for this team, Jerich lamented according to the newspaper.

Jerich also questioned the transfer from a sporting perspective. According to him, Haudum would have had better opportunities to advance his career if he had continued for another season in the ICEHL.

– In the CHL, he could have showcased his skills and eventually moved to a bigger club, Jerich noted.

Additionally, the owner of Graz99ers assessed that the TPS transfer does not offer the forward any financial benefit compared to what he could have earned at his former club.
