Chicago Blackhawks announces that the team’s captain Nick Foligno is taking a short leave of absence from the team’s activities.
The team states that Foligno’s daughter will undergo a follow-up surgery due to a congenital heart defect. For this reason, Foligno will be away from the team for a while. Foligno and the Blackhawks will not comment further on the matter at this time.
Foligno, 37, is representing the Blackhawks for his third season and is serving as the team’s captain for his second season. He has recorded 0+2 points in four games at the start of the season.
