The Buffalo Sabres’ scorching streak continued last night in the NHL. This time, Buffalo defeated the Philadelphia Flyers with a score of 5-2.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was again in strong form in goal for the Sabres. The Finnish goalie recorded 20 saves and received one penalty for hooking.
Luukkonen has been on fire, especially at home. Last night’s victory was his seventh in a row at home.
Buffalo’s franchise record is now just one win away for Luukkonen. Dave Dryden recorded eight consecutive home wins for Buffalo in the 1972-73 season. Now the Finnish goalie shares second place with Dominik Hasek, Daren Puppa, Don Edwards and Gary Bromley.
Luukkonen has played 17 games this season. In those, his save percentage has been 90.40.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen turned away 20 of 22 shots for his seventh straight win at home and helped the @BuffaloSabres climb into a Wild Card spot.
