Teuvo Teräväinen’s World Championship tournament was cut short due to an injury. The Lions announced on Saturday that the forward will miss the tournament due to the injury.
According to Urheilucast’s host Esko Seppänen , Teräväinen is suffering from a finger injury. The forward wanted to continue in the tournament, but the NHL team Chicago Blackhawks decided otherwise.
– According to UC’s information, he wanted to play through the pain. The Lions also gave the green light. The final decision about his fate was made by the party that pays Teräväinen’s salary, Seppänen wrote on Urheilucast’s Instagram.
Head coach Antti Pennanen stated that Teräväinen showed great fighting spirit in the Germany match.
– In the second period, he took a hit. It’s quite an achievement to play through the game with that hand. He even assisted on a goal. It was like he was playing with one hand, Pennanen revealed earlier.
