The Anaheim Ducks updated the situation of Swedish forward Leo Carlsson, who is sidelined due to injury.
The Ducks report that Carlsson underwent surgery on his left thigh due to a Morel-Lavallée injury. Carlsson is expected to be out of action for approximately 3-5 weeks.
The recovery time means that Carlsson’s participation in the tournament, for which he was selected for the Swedish Olympic team, is in jeopardy. Sweden will play its first match in the tournament on February 11, which is three and a half weeks away.
Carlsson has played 44 games this season, recording 18+26=44 points, making him the Ducks’ leading scorer.
