Tough acquisition: Sport’s golden helmet moves to Kärppät!
Vaasan Sport forward Sebastian Stålberg moves to Oulun Kärpät on a contract for the remainder of the season.
The 35-year-old Stålberg has played in the Liiga since the 2020–21 season and has represented Sport the entire time, where he also served as captain for three seasons. This season, the experienced forward has accumulated 23 points with 9 goals and 14 assists in 35 games.
Kärpät, which has suffered from several injuries, gains additional depth and experience in its offense with Stålberg.
– We currently have many injuries in the offensive zone, so Stålberg joining the team comes at a very important time. He is an experienced forward who has already proven his skills during his career. He is a quality player who stays calm and makes the right decisions in tight situations. He will give us more options in power play and will also strengthen our scoring, says Kärpät’s sports director Kimmo Kapanen in a statement.
Stålberg joins Kärpät’s roster immediately and will be part of the team’s three-game away trip.
