Artturi Lehkonen scored the decisive goal in the quarterfinal match against Switzerland. He broke through on a breakaway in overtime and shot the puck sharply in off the crossbar.

After the match, Lehkonen revealed in an HBO interview that he had received a tip for the breakaway well in advance.

– Yes, I knew where I was trying to shoot. I talked with [goalie coach] Aki Näykki before the game, and he showed me videos in case I got a breakaway. I definitely knew where I was trying to shoot, Lehkonen revealed.

Näykki had unusually precise information about the weaknesses of the outstanding player Leonardo Genoni. Näykki actually served as Genoni’s goalie coach during the 2018-19 season at SC Bern.
