Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk, who recorded 40 points last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, has found a new address in the NHL.
Sportsnet reporter Elliotte Friedman reported on X that Grzelcyk has signed a try out contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The 31-year-old Grzelcyk was one of the most notable remaining free agents. The try out contract can be seen as somewhat surprising, as the American veteran was the Penguins’ sixth most effective player last season with 1+39=40 points.
