The three best players of the Lions awarded!
The Lions defeated Canada 4-2 in the semifinals of the World Championships. After the match, the three best players from Finland were awarded. The awards went to Aleksander Barkov, Jesse Puljujärvi, and Henri Jokiharju.
There were no surprises in the selections. Barkov was the team leader, an excellent two-way player, and he scored 2+7=9 points in eight matches. Puljujärvi was one of Finland’s best goal scorers and point producers with 4+5=9 points, and Jokiharju was Finland’s most effective defender with 2+6=8 points.
The awards were given based on the decision of the Finnish coaching staff. At the end of the tournament, the best players in each position will be awarded based on a media vote, and a star team will be formed.
The Lions will next play in the finals against Switzerland. The match starts on Sunday at 21:20.
