The Lions defeated Canada 4-2 in the semifinals of the World Championships. After the match, the three best players from Finland were awarded. The awards went to Aleksander Barkov, Jesse Puljujärvi, and Henri Jokiharju.

There were no surprises in the selections. Barkov was the team leader, an excellent two-way player, and he scored 2+7=9 points in eight matches.
