The serious injury situation of Tre Kronor deepens – NHL superstar sidelined
The Toronto Maple Leafs faced a harsh setback during the NHL round against the Vegas Golden Knights. The team’s Swedish superstar William Nylander was injured and had to leave the game in the first period.
Maple Leafs announced that Nylander is suffering from a lower body injury and will not return to the game. The team’s head coach Craig Berube confirmed after the game that it is the same injury that had kept Nylander out recently. There is still no detailed information on the length of Nylander’s absence.
Due to his previous injury, Nylander had just missed six games and was playing his fourth game since his return. So far this season, he has played 37 games with a total of 17+31=48 points.
Nylander is part of the Swedish Olympic team, so his injury further deepened Tre Kronor’s dire situation. Currently, the injured Swedish stars selected for the Olympics from the NHL include Victor Hedman, Erik Karlsson, Jonas Brodin, Gabriel Landeskog, Joel Eriksson Ek, Philip Broberg, and Leo Carlsson.
