NHL Network experts predict the upcoming new season starting in the fall by listing the top 20 players in each position as usual. This time, it was the wingers’ turn.

According to the experts, the best winger in the NHL is Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The choice did not come out of nowhere, as Kucherov won the scoring title last season by a clear margin and was selected by the players as the NHL’s most valuable player.

The only Finnish player to make the top 20 list is Mikko Rantanen. He was ranked as the 4th best winger in the league. Only Kucherov, David Pastrnak, and Kirill Kaprizov were ahead of the Finn.

Last season, Rantanen played a total of 82 games with the Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, and Dallas Stars. In those, he recorded stats of 32+56=88. In the playoffs, he collected stats of 9+13=22 in 18 games.
