The Pelicans announced earlier on Monday that the forward Lucas Edmonds, who holds Swedish and Canadian passports, will no longer continue with the team.
Edmonds’ next team is now known. HC Vitkovice, playing in the Czech top league, announces that they have signed a one-month tryout contract with Edmonds, which includes an option for the rest of the season.
Edmonds, 24, joined the Pelicans in September initially on a two-month test contract, which was later extended until December 20. He managed to play 22 games with the team, recording 2+6 points. Edmonds played his last game with the Pelicans on November 25.
For the last three seasons, Edmonds played in the AHL.
