The MM host received top news – four NHL reinforcements are joining!
Switzerland, hosting the spring World Championships, will have four NHL reinforcements in its team. Blick reports that New Jersey Devils forwards Nico Hischier and Timo Meier, the same team’s defender Jonas Siegenthaler, and St. Louis Blues forward Pius Suter will join to strengthen Switzerland’s World Championship team.
The most notable reinforcement of the quartet is Hischier. He was the most effective Swiss player in the NHL this season, with 28+38=66 points in 82 games. Meier scored 24+20=44 points in 77 games.
Suter recorded 13+16=29 points in 66 games this season. Siegenthaler logged 0+16 points in 82 games on the Devils’ defense.
All four were also part of this year’s Olympics. In the World Championships, Hischier has represented his country six times, Meier four times, Suter twice, and Siegenthaler five times.
