The lock hit the fist on the table – secured the SHL goal scorer!
Rauman Lukko strengthens its attack with Canadian winger Felix Robert, 26, who has shown his goal-scoring potential at several different league levels. Robert’s one-year contract, arriving from Växjö Lakers’ SHL team, was announced on Monday evening.
Robert, who has played two seasons in the SHL, recorded 52 games last season with stats of 16+8=24 and was his team’s second-best goal scorer. He outperformed familiar scorers from the Liiga, including Reid Gardiner and Eemeli Suomi.
– First of all, he is a really good player, and he doesn’t actually have any major weaknesses; he knows how to score goals and has a good sense for scoring opportunities, is good with the puck and passing. Additionally, he is a very hardworking player and also does the dirty work on the ice, not just looking for points, lists Lukko’s sports director Kalle Sahlstedt.
– A pleasant player to watch, as his work ethic never stops; he forechecks hard, drives to the net, and works for the team. And even though he isn’t the biggest guy, he has excellent balance and is a solid presence on the ice, using his strong body to win many battles, the sports director happily notes in the club’s statement.
Before his years in Sweden, Robert played three seasons in the AHL, where he consistently achieved an average of 34 points per season. From his junior years in the QMJHL, there is also a season where Robert scored an impressive 36+56=92 in 46 games.
