The Lions are once again getting two new NHL reinforcements for their World Championship team!

The Lions will once again receive two new NHL reinforcements for the spring World Championships. The Finnish Ice Hockey Association announces that Boston Bruins defender Henri Jokiharju and goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo will join the Finnish national team for the World Championships.

– Korpisalo has experience from tough NHL games, which will certainly be beneficial in the tournament. Jokiharju, on the other hand, is a smart player known for his puck skills and passing game, describes the national team GM Jere Lehtinen.

For both, this World Championship tournament is the second of their careers. Jokiharju was part of the championship-winning team in 2019 and Korpisalo participated in the tournament in 2017. Both were also part of the team that won Olympic bronze this year, in addition to which Jokiharju participated in the 4 Nations tournament.

The Lions will head to the EHT tournament in Sweden this week. At this stage, the following players will join the team: Mikko Lehtonen, Jesse Puljujärvi, Aleksander Barkov, Lenni Hämeenaho, Anton Lundell, Olli Määttä, Urho Vaakanainen, and Justus Annunen.

Jokiharju, Korpisalo, Teuvo Teräväinen, and Nikolas Matinpalo will join the Lions directly for the World Championships.
