The forward traded for Mikko Rantanen hit the jackpot in the NHL.
The Nashville Predators have secured their fresh forward acquisition Jack Drury with a lucrative contract extension.
The 26-year-old forward, traded from the Colorado Avalanche to the Predators, has signed a five-year contract extension with his new team, valued at a total of 22.5 million dollars.
Drury will earn an annual salary of 4.5 million dollars from his new contract.
Playing in a lower-line role in Colorado, Drury appeared in all 82 regular-season games last season, finishing with stats of 10+17=27. This point total tied his personal NHL record for a single season.
The American forward has played a total of 282 regular-season games in his NHL career with the Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado Avalanche, recording 30+52=82 points.
With the Predators, Drury is expected to take on a larger role, and he has good chances to break into the team’s top two lines.
Drury moved to Colorado in January 2025 as part of the major trade involving Mikko Rantanen. Now the forward is following the same path as the Avalanche’s former GM Chris MacFarland, who brought him to Nashville.
