The first playoff pair of the NHL is determined!
The NHL regular season ends next week. However, the first playoff matchup of this spring was already confirmed during the games on Wednesday night, Finnish time. The Dallas Stars will face the Minnesota Wild in the opening round of the playoffs.
Dallas is second in the Western Conference with 104 points, and Minnesota is third with 102 points. Both teams have four games left in the regular season.
Thus, the home advantage for the playoff series between the teams is still undecided. Dallas and Minnesota will meet once more in the regular season as well. That game is scheduled for Friday night, Finnish time.
Playing for Dallas are Finnish players Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz, Arttu Hyry, Miro Heiskanen, and Esa Lindell. There are no Finnish players on the Minnesota roster.
