Canada’s captain Sidney Crosby will not be seen on the ice in the Olympic semi-final match against Finland on Friday.
The confirmation came just over an hour before the start of the semi-final. Instead of the injured Crosby, the captain’s C will be worn by the country’s superstar Connor McDavid in the match.
Crosby’s spot on Canada’s top power play will be taken by the young star Macklin Celebrini, who is playing in the high-level tournament.
The decisive match for the final spot between the Lions and Canada will start on Friday at 5:40 PM.
