The best defender in the NHL was chosen by a landslide – Miro Heiskanen’s ranking was revealed

Columbus Blue Jackets’ star defenseman Zach Werenski has been named the NHL’s best defenseman. The 28-year-old American was the clear winner in the media voting. Werenski received a total of 113 first-place votes, while second-placed Cale Makar received 47 votes.
Werenski had another outstanding season on Columbus’ blue line, collecting 75 regular season games with stats of 22+59=81. He broke the 80-point barrier for the second consecutive season.
This achievement helped the star, long considered among the league’s top defensemen, win the Norris Trophy for the first time in his career.
From a Finnish perspective, Dallas Stars’ Miro Heiskanen placed eighth in the Norris voting.
