The activities of the NHL team are stirring up controversy - a harsh trick for the fresh golden lion: "Says a lot"

The Lions won the world championship by defeating Switzerland 1-0 in the final on Sunday after overtime.

The NHL team Winnipeg Jets’ actions after the World Championship final sparked outrage on social media. The team published a congratulatory message to Nino Niederreiter, who won silver with Switzerland. In contrast, Ville Heinola, who achieved gold with Finland, did not receive any congratulations or mention from Winnipeg.

Winnipeg’s post about Niederreiter quickly gathered many angry comments about the complete disregard for Heinola’s championship win.

– AND CONGRATULATIONS TO VILLE HEINOLA FOR THE GOLD!! was a comment that received numerous likes.

– I am a hundred percent proud of Nino. But seriously… Ville won gold!!

– It says a lot about the Jets as an employer that even a gold medalist is left unmentioned.

– Seriously? Not even a mention of Ville? Classy…

– We are always proud of Nino! But the least we can do is celebrate Heinola and his gold medal achievement as well. He deserves a post just as much as Nino.

– Ha ha. Proud of the silver, but not of the other guy who won gold in the same tournament.

Heinola played a significant role on the Lions’ defense during the tournament. He recorded 3+3 points in ten games.

In Winnipeg, Heinola has fallen out of favor. He has received very little NHL responsibility, having played only five games in the NHL and 44 games in the AHL this season. Heinola’s contract with Winnipeg ends after this season.
