Tappara will receive a strong reinforcement for next season’s team. The club announced on Friday that forward prospect Oliver Suvanto will continue with the team next season on a loan agreement.

Just 17 years old, Suvanto signed an entry-level contract earlier this week with the Washington Capitals, who drafted the young player this summer. The Capitals selected the Tappara prospect with the 18th overall pick in the first round.

Suvanto played 48 regular season games last season for Tappara, recording 2+9=11 points.

For the upcoming season, the top prospect is expected to take on an even bigger role in the reigning Finnish champion’s offense down the middle.
