Surprise twist – Claude Giroux’s NHL team made it!
According to the latest information, free agent Claude Giroux is indeed continuing his career with the Ottawa Senators. This is reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
The specific terms of the contract are not yet public. In the recently concluded season, Giroux earned a total of 4.75 million dollars including performance bonuses.
Last week it was reported that Giroux could return to the Philadelphia Flyers, where he played the first 14 seasons of his NHL career. However, based on the latest information, the experienced forward is continuing with the Ottawa Senators, which he has represented since the summer of 2022.
The 38-year-old Giroux played all 82 regular season games last season. In those, he scored 14 goals and provided 35 assists.
In the NHL regular season, Giroux has played a total of 1,345 games. In those, he has scored 379 goals and provided 786 assists, raising his points total to 1,165. In the playoffs, he has played 105 games and collected 86 points.
