Supplier: Milan Lucic moves to European rinks – surprising destination!
In the NHL, forward Milan Lucic, 37, who has played nearly 1200 games, is heading to Europe for the first time in his career.
The Fourth Period reporter David Pagnotta reports on X that Lucic has signed a contract with a team playing in the top league in Great Britain. The team’s name has not yet been made public.
Lucic visited the St. Louis Blues training camp early in the fall, but an injury dashed the hard-hitting Canadian’s hopes of returning to the NHL.
Last season, Lucic, who took a break from hockey, joined the Blues’ farm team, the Springfield Thunderbirds, in November on a tryout contract. He played five games in the AHL, scoring 0+1 points. The Blues eventually terminated Lucic’s tryout contract.
Lucic has played 1177 regular season games in the NHL, recording 233+353=586 points. The veteran forward has accumulated 1301 penalty minutes in his NHL career.
