Superlative attacker drafted an NHL contract

The Winnipeg Jets have signed a three-year entry-level contract with Swedish forward Viggo Björck.
Björck, 18, was the Jets’ first-round eighth overall pick in this summer’s draft. The highly promising Björck played last season in Sweden’s SHL with Djurgården, finishing with 15 points in 42 games (6+9).
Last season, Björck won the under-20 World Championship with Tre Kronor. He recorded 9 points (3+6) in seven tournament games. Björck also represented Sweden in the men’s World Championships in the spring, where he scored 6 points (1+5) in eight games.
In the 2024-25 season, Björck scored an impressive 74 points in 42 games with Djurgården’s juniors.
