Star forward Claude Giroux has signed a new NHL contract!
Experienced Canadian forward Claude Giroux, 37, will continue his career with the Ottawa Senators. He has signed a one-year contract extension with the Senators.
Giroux’s base salary under the new contract is two million dollars. However, the contract includes various bonuses totaling 2.75 million dollars, so Giroux’s salary could potentially rise to 4.75 million dollars. Giroux will receive bonuses based on games played and the team’s success.
Giroux has been with the Senators for three seasons. In the past season, he recorded 50 points (15 goals, 35 assists) in 81 regular-season games and 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) in six playoff games.
Throughout his NHL career, Giroux has played 1,263 regular-season games (365 goals, 751 assists, 1,116 points) and 101 playoff games (29 goals, 57 assists, 86 points). He spent a long time with the Philadelphia Flyers and also briefly played for the Florida Panthers.
