The Buffalo Sabres announce that the team’s captain and star defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will be sidelined from the team’s activities for personal reasons and will travel back to his home country of Sweden.
Dahlin previously mentioned in the fall that his fiancée Carolina suffered from heart failure over the summer, which required her to undergo a heart transplant.
– I can tell you that she said everything is okay. She has the full support of the team, Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff says.
No timeline has been set for the duration of Dahlin’s absence.
Dahlin, 25, has recorded 1+8 points in 14 games this season.
