Russian forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, 33, is preparing for a return to the NHL after spending one season in the KHL.

RG magazine reports that Kuznetsov has received a few contract offers from the NHL.

At least the Montreal Canadiens are said to be pursuing Kuznetsov. The Canadian team represented by Patrik Laine has been looking for a new center recently.

According to RG, Kuznetsov’s camp will make a decision within a few days.

Kuznetsov played last season in the KHL for SKA St. Petersburg. Before that, he played 743 games in the NHL with a scoring record of 173+402=575. The Russian forward has represented the Washington Capitals and the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL.

In the KHL, Kuznetsov recorded 12+25=37 points in 39 games last season.
