Finnish forward of the Carolina Hurricanes Jesperi Kotkaniemi, 25, is currently swirling in trade rumors in the NHL. The Hurricanes are reported to be actively shopping Kotkaniemi.
This season has been difficult for Kotkaniemi. He has faced challenges in making his team’s lineup, in addition to suffering from injuries. This season, Kotkaniemi has played 29 games, in which he has only recorded 2+5 points.
The Fourth Period reporter David Pagnotta states that one team interested in Kotkaniemi is the Minnesota Wild. According to Pagnotta, Kotkaniemi is not the Wild’s primary choice in the center market, but the team’s GM Bill Guerin is weighing all options.
Kotkaniemi earns 4.82 million dollars per season. His current contract runs until 2030.
