Source: Jarmo Kekäläinen made a shocking offer - Konsta Helenius as part of a huge trade

Buffalo Sabres general manager Jarmo Kekäläinen has made a bold offer to acquire St. Louis Blues star center Robert Thomas.

This is claimed by NHL reporter Jordan Schmaltz, who states that Kekäläinen has offered a massive package in exchange for Thomas, which would include former NHL first overall pick Owen Power, Finnish prospect Konsta Helenius, and possibly a third player selected in the first round Jack Quinn.

Negotiations were also reported by TSN insiders Chris Johnston and Darren Dreger. According to the duo, Kekäläinen’s deal includes “multiple first-round picks.”

Acquiring Thomas would be Kekäläinen’s first major move in his new role. The 26-year-old Thomas, who earns $8.1 million on a contract that extends through the summer of 2031, has played the last two seasons well above a point-per-game pace.

This season, the Canadian has recorded 35 points in 43 games with 12 goals and 23 assists.
