SK: Ässät strengthened their roster – reeling in a captain with over 500 Liiga games

Porin Ässät has acquired a defender from another Liiga team for the upcoming season.
Satakunnan Kansa reports that HPK’s captain Petteri Nikkilä is moving to Ässät’s team for the next season.
Nikkilä, 33, is a product of HPK. He made his Liiga debut with the team in the 2013-14 season and represented the club until the spring of 2020, before returning to the team mid-season in 2022-23. In between, Nikkilä played one season in Sweden, one season with KooKoo, and half a season in the second tier of German hockey.
In Liiga, Nikkilä has played a total of 526 regular season games (43+184=227) and 44 playoff games (9+19=28). He won the Finnish championship with HPK in the spring of 2019.
This season, Nikkilä has scored 1+7 points in 25 games.
