Sidney Crosby got angry at the World Championships – locker room speech recorded on video: "F*cking pathetic"

The World Championships in Canada ended in a bitter disappointment as the team, which was the favorite going into the tournament, once again finished without a medal.

The star forward of the Nikkarinip team, Sidney Crosby, has hidden his frustration during the tournament.

The NHL legend has now made headlines due to a video that was recorded during the group stage match between Canada and Slovakia. The video, which was leaked from the locker room during the intermission, showed Crosby expressing his feelings in quite colorful terms.

– You know they are f*cking terrible, Crosby shot at his teammates.

The comment immediately sparked a controversy, as at first, Crosby was interpreted to be criticizing the Slovak team. In reality, however, the star center was referring to the officiating of the match.

According to Canadian commentators, Crosby later reached out to the Slovak team management to ensure that the misunderstanding would not persist. His message was clear: the words were directed at the referees, not the Slovak players.

Crosby’s year in the national team jersey has been exceptionally tough in terms of results. The Canadian icon has played in two World Championships and the Olympics within a year, but only one medal has made it to his trophy cabinet.

That came from the Milan Olympics, where Canada lost to the United States in the final and had to settle for silver medals.

The most recent disappointment was the World Championship tournament, which ended in a shocking loss for Canada against Norway in the bronze medal match.
