Sebastian Aho’s chilling trick – Carolina is one win away from the Stanley Cup!
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in the fifth Stanley Cup final with a score of 4-2, thus coming within one victory of winning the Stanley Cup. The series is now 3-2 in favor of Carolina.
The winning goal of the match was scored by Carolina’s Finnish star Sebastian Aho. He put his team ahead 3-1 in the second period by lifting the puck into the net from the corner. Aho celebrated his goal with emotion, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
For Aho, who had faced criticism during the playoffs, the goal was his first in the final series and his fifth point overall. Throughout the playoffs, Aho has scored 12 points with 5 goals and 7 assists in 18 games.
Vegas scored the first goal of the match in the opening period when Pavel Dorofejev succeeded. Carolina’s scoring was opened by Jordan Staal, who netted his sixth goal in the final series.
Andrei Svetshnikov put Carolina in the lead in the second period, after which it was Aho’s turn to score. In the final period, Svetshnikov added another goal, while Dorofejev scored again for Vegas.
In goal for Carolina, Brandon Bussi recorded 23 saves, while Vegas’ goaltender Carter Hart stopped 20 shots.
The sixth game of the final series will be played in the early hours of Monday, Finnish time. The Stanley Cup victory will be on the line for Carolina at that time.
