Sebastian Aho led the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3–2 overtime victory against the Philadelphia Flyers last night. The Finnish center recorded 2+1 points and was involved in every goal of his team.

Aho opened the scoring just seconds into the game. Only ten seconds had passed in the first period when his wrist shot found the net.

At the start of the third period, Aho scored again, this time on the power play. The Flyers’ penalty kill left the Finn completely open in the center, and he did not miss the opportunity.

The decision ultimately required overtime. Aho registered an assist on the winning goal scored by Shayne Gostisbehere, capping off his three-point night.

In three games this season, Aho has collected 3+1=4 points.

The evening in Philadelphia was darkened not only by the loss but also by the injury to Rasmus Ristolainen. The Finnish defenseman suffered a shot to his hand in the second period.

Ristolainen returned to the ice in the third period, but his stint was short. He played only one shift of 37 seconds before having to leave the game.

Injuries have plagued Ristolainen in recent years. In the 2023–24 season, he was able to play only 31 games due to a lower body injury and a subsequent upper body injury.

In April 2024, Ristolainen underwent surgery for a torn triceps tendon. In March 2025, he had to undergo surgery again due to a tear in the triceps tendon of his right arm, with a recovery time estimated at around six months.
