Nathan MacKinnon is currently trending on social media with secretly recorded video footage that has left hockey fans amazed.

In the video, the Colorado Avalanche superstar is seen doing an intense workout in a pool with a snorkel mask on and fins on his feet. This unusual training method has quickly gone viral, and the video has already been viewed over 4.2 million times.

MacKinnon is known in the NHL for his exceptional training ethic, so the video did not come as a complete surprise even to Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar.

– MacKinnon leaves no stone unturned. Our players are looking for ways to improve. “Nate” is a guy who is willing to think outside the box and try new things. It’s clear that what he has been doing since his rookie season is working, Bednar said at a press conference.

According to Bednar, MacKinnon’s constant desire to seek new training methods is also evident in his development year after year.

– He gets better and better every year. Part of it is experience, but a big part of it is his willingness to try new things and see what works for him.

The Colorado Avalanche currently leads the playoff series against the Minnesota Wild with a score of 2–1. MacKinnon has recorded 11 points (5+6) in seven playoff games.
