Source: Swedish master caught by SaiPa
SaiPa is strengthening its offensive lineup for the next season with a winger who has played over 450 games in the SHL. HockeyNews reported that Einar Emanuelsson, who won the Swedish championship last season in Luleå, will be moving to Lappeenranta for the next season.
The 29-year-old Emanuelsson, who scored 143 points in 453 regular season games in the SHL, had a difficult start to this season in Sweden, as he recorded only two assists in 19 games. The forward, who was loaned to Lugano in the Swiss league for the remainder of the season, found his form in the cuckoo clock country and scored 9 points (6+3) in 22 games.
The Swedish player’s older brother Petter Emanuelsson is a familiar name from the league this decade, as the forward represented Kärpät in Finland for two seasons and KooKoo for another two seasons.
SaiPa announced earlier on Monday two strong forward signings, as it reported the acquisitions of Petrus Palmu and the goal-scoring machine Petr Fridrich, who is arriving from the Czech league.
