Roby Järventie: new team!
Finnish forward Roby Järventie is returning to Europe from North America. He is moving to the Swiss top league team HC Ambri-Piotta on a two-year contract.
Järventie, 23, played three NHL games this season with the Edmonton Oilers. Most of his season took place in the minors, where he scored 23+24=47 points in 61 regular season games with the Bakersfield Condors and 0+2 points in three playoff games.
Originally, Järventie was a 2nd round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2020. He played seven NHL games with Ottawa before his trade to Edmonton.
Järventie signed a contract with Tappara a year ago. However, he received an NHL contract for the past season during the summer, so the move to the Liiga did not happen at that time.
Before moving to North America, Järventie represented Ilves in the Liiga.
Ambri-Piotta announces that they have also signed Nate Schnarr on a two-year contract and have extended Michael Joly‘s contract for two years. Both forwards have made a strong impact in the Liiga as well.
