Revelation about Jevgeni Kuznetsov!
In the KHL last season, the Russian forward Jevgeni Kuznetsov is still hunting for a team in the NHL.
According to Kuznetsov’s player agent Shumi Babajev, negotiations for an NHL contract have taken place.
– Everything has been at the discussion level. We have negotiated with several teams, over ten teams. Some discussions have been positive, while others have declined, Babajev says in an interview with Championat.
Earlier this summer, it was reported that at least the Montreal Canadiens had held discussions with Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov played last season on the same line as the Canadiens’ superstar prospect Ivan Demidov.
The 33-year-old Kuznetsov represented SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL last season. Before this, he played 743 games in the NHL over 11 seasons, with a total of 173+402=575 points. The skillful forward has represented the Washington Capitals and most recently the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL.
In the KHL, Kuznetsov totaled 37 points in 39 games last season with 12+25.
